Since I came to RBI and started soul winning I seen the lives of many touched and changed by the Lord and my life and heart has been changed. At first I didn’t understand the importance of just using the script, but I did it anyway. I now realize that it’s the importance of the Word. That the power is in the Word of God. Every time I got off the script it was harder for me to lead someone to the lord. When I just read it, it is easy. God’s Word is where the power is. This was a big lesson to me not just for soul winning but for ministry. The less of me that gets in the way, the more God can do through me.
This year I have had the honor of leading many people to Jesus Christ and praying for them. I have seen many truly touched by Jesus and their eyes turn from dark to light. I have seen some healed and others cry as their hearts are touched by the love of God. And I have witnessed children touched by the Joy of the Lord. The Holy Spirit has showed me that I can trust him and rely on him for boldness and wisdom.
Soul winning started out as a program for us at school but has become of way of life for me. It has helped me to learn to rely greater on the holy spirit and learn to be more sensitive to his leading, not only when I am out soul winning with the church but also when I am at work and on a daily basis. I am thankful to this ministry for pushing us to be obedient to the Word of God and Go share the gospel to the lost. It is an honor to be a witness for Christ. And this ministry has helped me break free from the fear of man and be able to share the word of God. “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16)
Months before I even arrived at the River Bible Institute God had put in my heart the importance of winning souls and a compassion for the lost. There were times when I couldn’t even go to bed at night until I prayed for at least one person. I believe that we all should try to lead at least one person to the Lord each day and hopefully more than that.
It’s amazing how God will even just give you someone to pray for sometimes whether it’s in the grocery store, at work, or going out with teams here at school. Soul winning has definitely changed my outlook on how I view life in general. It’s awesome how the Holy Spirit will use you as a vessel to touch people with the fire of God and that it’s not just limited to a church service. Why just this afternoon I prayed with six young gentlemen on a basketball court just minutes from my house.
Afterwards one young fellow said that he really needed that and said he had been thinking about going to church recently, but Jesus came to him. He didn’t ever have to be in a church service, but hopefully he will start going. If he hadn’t ever gone to church he would have never invited Jesus into his heart. God has definitely given me a compassion and love for the lost and it’s grown even more here at school. R.B.I. is an awesome place to get filled with the power of God so we can go out and pour out to a lost and dying generation.
Soul winning has changed my life and sometimes consumes me and I can’t relax until I pray for someone sometimes because what if that person were to die that very night. One time I prayed with a gentleman and he was dead two weeks later. I believe he is in heaven now. If I had waited or let fear overtake me he might not have made heaven! Sometimes we can get so busy in our daily life or distracted that we miss it, but it’s so very crucial the gospel is preached and people make heaven.
After having the honor and privilege of being a part of five Great Awakening Tours, my whole understanding of what soul winning was changed forever. And after coming to bible school here at River Bible Institute God has continued to change me and transform my life through soul winning. This year alone the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes more and more to see people as He does, and to love and He loves.
He has given me boldness in sharing the Script, whereas before I would tend to hesitate and second guess myself. He has taught me to not look at the outward appearance of a person and let their personae fool you, but to step out in faith and open my mouth and share the Gospel, regardless of the circumstances. I’m starting to truly understand now that the Gospel really is the power of God unto salvation, so all we have to do is share that Gospel, and there the power of God will be to save. We don’t have to do anything or try to force anything to happen. It’s the Holy Spirit and the goodness of God that leads people to repentance.
There was one particular day in soul winning this year that really stuck out in my mind. I went with Jake Peterson in a team of about five people to a local neighborhood not far from the church. I knocked on one door and this girl of about twenty years old answered. I proceeded with the Gospel Script and she accepted Jesus as her savior. She then told me of how she and her mother where going through some hard times and that she was just looking for a place to attend church. I gave her the information about the River church and the bus ministry we had, so that very next Sunday she showed up to the Main Event. I didn’t truly realize the impact that we have as soul winners out there on the streets until that moment. After attending the service that Sunday she answered the alter call, was radically touched by God, and even had her broken arm healed. I am so thankful to be a part of a ministry that is making an impact for all eternity.
There are people outside the four walls of the church that need to see that God is real through the lives of soul winners who dare the step out of their comfort zone with the Word and the Fire of God. Souls are hanging in the balance, and I am so glad for every opportunity to see a life changed for all eternity by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Soul winning has become a major part of my life. Usually, I have the privilege of spending two to three hours a week soul-winning. Praise God, I have been able to lead at least one-hundred people to the Lord each quarter of this school year. Not only has God allowed me the ability to lead people to Him on a regular basis, but I have also been able to pray with people who have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and people who have been healed by the power of God.
As a matter of fact, I want to share about a lady at my local church I attend back home who went up to the altar for prayer and my pastor told me to pray for her, so I laid my hands on her and began to do so. I asked her if she was able to speak in tongues and she said no, she had been trying. I encouraged her to try and she said she couldn’t but I just kept telling her she could and after a couple of minutes I felt the presence of the Holy Ghost come upon us and she began to speak in tongues; hallelujah! I know the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is not an uncommon thing for most believers but it always blesses me to see others get blessed.
Soul winning is definitely a passion and not a program; it is an eternal purpose for life. It has become more of a fun hobby for me that included benefits. I have also been privileged to be a team leader which involves instructing others what to do on soul winning missions. I have also been able to train others in soul winning as well. I am really looking forward to going back to my home town and establishing soul winning teams there.
I had my first soul winning experience at the Great Awakening Tour in Chattanooga, Tennessee in October of 2007. The moment I knocked on that first door and the lady who answered the door prayed and asked Jesus into her heart everything in my life changed forever! I knew instantly that I had stepped into what God had called me to do. I have since had the honor of praying with over a thousand people.
Soul winning is the most powerful ministry and the highest call. I love it because I don’t need a pulpit. I don’t need to wait until I get an invitation to speak at a church. I don’t have to write a book or make a set of CD’s to sell at a conference. All I do is walking out my front door and the world becomes my pulpit. It is a powerful lifestyle of touching people with the power of God and making an eternal difference in their lives. I recently went with a team to the bus depot.
In less than two hours I prayed with twenty-two people. The first person I prayed with was a young man from Asia. I also prayed with teenagers, two older men, a mother and her child, and a woman whose heart was breaking but was smiling and laughing when we finished praying. While I was there a young man approached me and told me he was a Christian and he thought what I was doing was wonderful.
I took a few minutes to show him the script I was using and commissioned him as a soul winner. He immediately began to lead people to the Lord. In less than two hours I saw more people ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior than some churches do in a year. The harvest is plentiful. I pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers into the field.
Wow what an awesome service that Sunday the 13th of December. God totally moved, as he always does at The River. People were delivered, set free, healed, and changed forever. It was totally awesome to see the people that call themselves as part of The River mobilized. From the people that help on the bus ministry, who get up extra early just to bring in the people who are less fortunate and don’t have transportation, but want to hear the Word of God. They are hungry for God and The River is definitely a place where they will get fed, to the people who help in the food ministry, packing and distributing the food boxes with love. It truly is so much better to give than to receive. Well I could go on and on about the awesome people at The River and I am so happy and grateful to call myself one of them. That day I helped in the nursery, we had about 45 I and 2 year olds that day, boy was that an adventure, but what a privilege it was to be able to love and nurture those babies who may have never been loved and cared for in such a special way. To be able to pray for them, knowing that God will watch over his Word to perform it in their lives. God is so good! It was a very busy day for all who helped that day, but so well worth it, and what a reward will we all receive in heaven for it! T he harvest of souls was so great that day, and that is what it truly is all about, because that is the only thing we can take to heaven with us, is people. And to think of how simple it is for people to receive eternal life. All we have to do is share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them, be real people and love on them, because just by loving on them, it sets us apart from everyone else. Hallelujah! God is good! And this is only the beginning!
This past Winter Camp Meeting 2010, was an amazing time. Even though I was only able to attend the evening services, I had the privilege of serving every night. Just being able to serve, feel the anointing, and the presence of the Lord was breath taking. I felt as if I was wrapped in a warm blanket. Coming into this camp meeting, it has been a roller coaster ride for me and my family. I came to every meeting expecting and pressing into the things of God because I needed Him to pull through for me. Just me being able to make it this far into the school year has been nothing short of a miracle. I found myself so hungry for the things of God and wanting more of Him. One night, Pastor Rodney preached on the “Fire of God”, and man did the fire ever fall that night. I told God I wanted everything He had for me and I know there is a price to be paid for His fire. Everything that is not precious jewels will be burned up,(wood, hay, and stubble), and I was OK with that. The fruit that I am producing will not only been seen by my family, but everyone else around me. I don’t want to be like the fig tree that Jesus cursed because of not producing fruit. I never want to lose the fire of God because it is what will carry me through each day. I was also pressing in because I still don’t know to what capacity God has called me into. The only thing I know to do is to keep hungry for the things of God, stay humble, and win souls. I was also able to be in the service with Ted Shuttlesworth and see God’s healing power shown that night. People came forth with deaf ears and walked away being healed. Wow! These meetings have been the best services I have ever attended in my whole life. What a blessing to be under this leadership and this ministry.
As always The Presence of God was strong at the winter camp meeting! I was able to rest and receive at the evening service as in the morning I am involved in the bus ministry, which has an early start! Church at 7-30am and return somewhere around 3-00 to 3-30pm. The camp got off to a good start!
It was so good that the minibuses were able to be sent out to collect some of the people that come to the church from the bus routes. The people that came were blessed so much! They are really receiving from The Lord and wanting to grow and learn more, it is so good to see their hunger!
I had a bit of a skirmish on the Sunday evening and as a result was not at The River on Monday, yet I did listen online. I did ask The Lord why I needed a kick in the head and as usual with the why question you rarely get an answer! Maybe I needed it!
As for the rest of the time I was pressing in to receive the fire! I have had touches of the fire from Him and really am hungry for more of Him! I know there is much more!
His presence was sweet and many tears were shed!
Many things that were spoken from the front were confirming Words that The Lord has spoken to me. About being prepared and ready for what is going to come in the church and in the world! We/ I have to purify ourselves, get rid of the things in our lives that are weaknesses and could cause us to stumble in the future!
We need to be ready!
It is a critical time for those who want to follow closely to Jesus. It is like there is call going out, a divine alignment going on. God fine-tuning us to follow closely and obediently after Him.
One thing I kept being reminded of all of the week was a dream that He gave me around four years ago.
In this dream God took me above the earth, I could see the whole earth so clearly, it was quite awesome!
As I am looking in wonder, most of North America and all of South America zoomed in closer, so close that I could see the borders of the States and the countries of South America!
At the same time a whole area to my right opened up, including some of Africa, Europe but mainly the Middle East, including Israel!
As I am looking and wondering how this can be I saw people as tiny dots to begin with, they were being lifted up, as they were coming closer to were I was they were being cleaned up and transformed, each one the same, they were all put in the same uniform!
This happened firstly in the America’s then in the Middle East, Europe Africa!
Then very suddenly the place I was above the earth turned into a very clean and orderly restaurant!
Each of the people (there were thousands of them being transported up) were very smartly dressed as servers (servants). They were each given a silver tray, and on the tray was placed a decanter of crystal. In the decanter was water. I knew this was living water!
I asked The Lord what He was showing me!
He told me that many are called yet few are chosen! Few have chosen to go through the fires of refining. Few have not loved their lives even to death. These are the ones who have chosen the way of the cross. They have chosen to lose their lives so they can find it in Jesus!
These are the ones in these final hours who will pour out the ‘pure living waters of My Spirit’.
Hallelujah!
When I first had the dream I pondered and wondered and prayed for this to happen! It has been a cry of my heart for some time.
Now I believe I know.
It is going to be through RBN, the television network!
The Lord confirmed this to me.
This T.V. broadcasting is going to raise up all of the thousands that God showed me. They will take Jesus at His Word and pour out to many in these nations!
It is so awesome what He is doing! He is bringing all of the pieces together to accomplish this!
He has also shown me that there will be more River bible institutes that will come out of this to equip and train His Spiritual S.A.S. teams for the last harvest of this time we are in!
There were so many things that took place at camp, too many to mention in three hundred words!
I have had tinnitus (ringing and buzzing) in my ears since I was forced to take an overseas flight in 1989 with a sinus infection. I have had to really focus on what people were saying as it was like listening to a very poorly aired radio station full of static…and I sometimes did not hear correctly. Last night over God tv, I prayed for healing in my body. I know God is no respector of persons and I expected to be touched. God opened my ears…I hear clearly and took away the pain in my knee that started in 1957 in a skiing accident. PTL PTL PTL PTL
In October of 2006 my husband, step-son and I attended a Christian outreach called “Raise the Roof” in Clearwater, FL. I’m recovering from a rare disease of CNS Vasculitis as was on a cane for 4 years (I’m only 47) and getting better all the time. This evening, they left me sitting on the ground in front of the gate to run off to the men’s room. I had a vision of the Holy Spirit rolling out of the gates on a mighty wave of wind. A few days later in church, I heard God give me the scripture that says that if his people will humble themselves and pray that He would heal their land. Well, I’ve been watching God TV on and off for two days and this afternoon while watching the show and even the recording on DVR from last night, I kept feeling this rocking motion. It was smooth and peaceful and I asked the Lord what it was and He told me that I was riding the mighty wave of the Holy Spirit! AWESOME!
