We Have A Covenant Father by Rodney Howard Browne

Foundation Scriptures:
Psalms 111:9; Jeremiah 31:31-33

He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant to be forever; holy is His name, inspiring awe, reverence, and godly fear.  Psalms 111:9 AMP

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was their Husband, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.  Jeremiah 31:31-33 AMP

1. We have a covenant Father. He has made promises that He will never, ever break. Adam

Abraham; Isaac; Jacob (Genesis 15:18; Genesis 17:1-21)

Moses (Exodus 2:24-25; Exodus 6:4-5; Exodus 19:5; Exodus 24:7-8; Exodus 34:27-28;

David etc. through Jesus to us (Psalms 98:3; Isaiah 55:3)

2. The Father loves man so very much—He has chosen to be in relationship with us and interact with us. He makes covenant provision for us and gives us the choice to accept it. He gives us choices and even tells us which is the right and good choice that will bring the blessing.

Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6:18; Genesis 9:9-17)

Abraham and Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:17-19)

Solomon and wisdom (1 Kings 3:5-14)

3. Come let us reason together.

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.  Isaiah 1:18-20 AMP

Jesus came to bridge the gap between God and man —to show us the Father. Colossians 1:20 AMP – And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross.
He sent the Holy Spirit to make us one with Him. 1 John 4:13 AMP – By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live and remain) in Him and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit. Work out your own contract with God. He is waiting to hear from you.

4. Things you need to know about your Father.

This covenant is sealed in the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 9:12-14 AMP – He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us). 13 For if [the mere] sprinkling of unholy and defiled persons with blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a burnt heifer is sufficient for the purification of the body, 14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God?

This covenant cannot fail. Psalms 103:17-18 AMP – But the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children–18 To such as keep His covenant [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it] and to those who [earnestly] remember His commandments to do them [imprinting them on their hearts].

This covenant has over 30,000 promises.

This covenant favors you—the recipient—to receive His grace and favor, because of Calvary—the Cross, the Resurrection and Pentecost.

For I will be leaning toward you with favor and regard for you, rendering you fruitful, multiplying you, and establishing and ratifying My covenant with you.  Leviticus 26:9 AMP

Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament), 21 Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).  Hebrews 13:20-21 AMP

What Is True Religion? by Rodney Howard Browne

Worship Soundtracks from RMIRiverSong on Vimeo.

If anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external duties of his faith) and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person’s religious service is worthless (futile, barren). 27 External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.  James 1:26-27 AMP

There are many, many people who claim to be “religious” and by that they mean that they believe in God or a god or some kind of higher power. Just because you are religious, or call yourself religious, doesn’t mean that your heart is right with God or even that you are a better person than the next person. There are many religions around the world and yet people still sin and still do bad things to one another. Most “religion” is nothing more than man-made tradition. It is fruitless, useless and powerless. Rather than being religious, we should strive to be godly and to live a godly life, conformed to God’s holy word.

So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect]. 7 You pretenders (hypocrites)! Admirably and truly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said: 8 These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. 9 Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men.  Matthew 15:6-9 AMP

When people are truly godly, as opposed to merely religious, they:
Are doers of the word
Walk in the love of God
Care about and help others
Keep their hearts right with God – their conscience is clear
Walk in the fruit of the spirit
Do not act like the world – they keep themselves free from sin – unspotted and uncontaminated from the world

Merely religious people display some or all of these traits:
Are not doers of the Word of God
Do not walk in the love of God
Want their own way
Are selfish, self-promoting and self-seeking
Manifest the works of the flesh
Are critical and judgmental
Are covetous, jealous and envious – are not happy when others are blessed
Put on a show – are boastful, arrogant and conceited
Claim to have the only way – believe they are always right
Are angry, hate-filled and even murderous – no natural compassion
Power-hungry and manipulative
Sad, sour, rude and unmannerly
Believe the worst of others
Are impatient and unkind
Are touchy and resentful
Are unforgiving and hold grudges
Are not concerned about injustice
Quench any joy in themselves and others
Cover their sin instead of repenting
Are bound up and seek to put others in bondage
Hate freedom and resent liberty

Religious people are people who don’t realize that God loves them – unconditionally. They don’t feel loved so they can’t love others. They feel judged and so they judge. They need to experience the goodness of God, repent of their bad attitude and be set free.

Religion alone is not a guarantee of heaven, because religion relies on works. Works alone are not enough. Salvation is by faith through grace. Only a personal relationship – with trust and reliance on the Name of Jesus, having believed in your heart, having confessed Him as Lord, having been washed in His blood, having been born again by the Spirit of God – is a guarantee of eternal life. The worst kind of religious person is one who has received Jesus, but either has not let go of old religious ideas, or they try to add to the simplicity of the Gospel with all kinds of man-made traditions.

From the time you receive Jesus, or recommit to Him, you must continually work to renew your mind to His pure, unadulterated word and be conformed to His image. You cannot return to your old life – you cannot start in the Spirit and then go back to the flesh – like a dog returning to its own vomit.

Everyone of us needs to have a regular “check-up”. Not at the doctor, but a heart check-up. We need to make sure that our daily attitude and conduct match up with the Word of God. We must measure our attitude and conduct against the standard of the Word of God and make the adjustments so that we can continue to walk in the freedom and liberty of the Holy Spirit.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty! (2 Cor. 3:17)

Ministers Conference 2010 – Lena M. Testimony

From MC 2010 I received many blessings from God. The speaker that I enjoyed the most was Phil Smethurst. Specifically, I enjoyed him teaching on the believer’s identity as the righteousness of Christ. The revelation I received and understanding that my old self is actually dead and I am a new creation, was life changing. This is something I’ve heard before, but it became so much more real to me.

I need to meditate more on this truth so that it becomes who I know myself to be. The other way I was blessed and stirred by Phil Smethurst is by listening to him talk about Overland Missions, and the work that he has done and is doing in other countries of the world, reaching the un-reached. When he speaks about sharing the Gospel with people of different cultures I get so hungry to walk in this and the fire of God burns and burns on the inside of me. It was like a fresh reminder from God that I need to stay focused on my main call, and not get side-tracked or distracted by other gifts or things in my life, but to keep pressing on towards the high-call.

Ministers Conference 2010 – Howard F. Testimony

During this Minister’s Conference I learned many powerful things. In ministry, the treasure, the resources, gifts and talents are within me and they can never be taken away. I have to base my ministry on Kingdom principles and not worldly principles. I have to look at what God has for me and not what is in my own bank account. There comes a time when people that are not following the principles of God must be cut off. If they are resistant to change and following God, let them go so they do not bring you down. I have to develop fruit based on things that are in the Word. Fruit from things that are not in the Word of God are worthless and will never amount to anything in eternity. I have to always make sure that what I am doing is a God idea and not just a good idea. I can spend years of my life wasted on a good idea and in heaven have nothing to show for it.

The mandate of God is fulfilled by our imagination and our ignorance. The boundaries of my life are based on the identity I have in Christ Jesus. I can not measure myself against the World’s definition of success. I can not measure myself up with ridiculous unrighteousness. Only the opinion of God matters, not the opinion of any man. I have to have a greater opinion of others, the opinion that God has of them, anything else is insulting. I can not allow the enemy to make me believe that I am not worthy of this opinion of God. I have to constantly stay in the Word to keep this opinion.

The Lord is moving mightily in the outreach department. The bus ministry is increasing. The outreaches are growing. More and more people are getting touched by the love of God. With all the Bible studies and the growing attendance on the buses, more people are coming under the teaching and preaching of the Word. People are being set free and maturing as believers take hold of all God has for them. They are renewing their mind to the truth of God’s Word. We went from having a van and one area to pick up people, to many large buses to pick up mass amounts of people.

The Lord has increased and has shown Himself mightily to the people through His Word. Every week, many come to go soul winning and flyering to spread the news about God’s love and invite them out to church. We went from having a Bible study with 12 to 15 people in attendance to many Bible studies all around Tampa and numerous amounts of people attending. 169 But the most important thing is not necessarily the numbers. The most important thing is the people who are being discipled and raised up as leaders in their communities. Then through them they can make a difference for the Kingdom of God and take a hold of all that God has for their lives. Through them more will be reached for eternity. It is so awesome to see God move in others and then through others with His love. It’s what it’s all about.

The Lord has really put the area of finances on my heart lastly. Showing me how important it is to just give God what is His. Really what is the big deal about at less giving Him what is His! 10%! That’s all He asks for. So little He asks from us, compared to the Cross it’s nothing! I have seen what God can do when you just put your faith in Him.

The Lord told me to just Him in this area and I said I trust you Lord. The Lord has provided from unknown areas to provide me with finances for weeks. Put your faith in God! His word dose not return void! This is the one thing in the entire word of God that we are allowed to test Him in! We have free rain to test the creator of the world with this! I don’t know about you, but I am taking God up on His word! I am convinced through this we the body of Christ can fund the end time harvest of souls!

We were driving and saw that there was a funeral. One of the team members said they asked the pastor earlier if they could speak to the people but he told them no .I went in and asked permission and did the soul winning script and 60 people said the prayer !

Won 82 souls to Christ today!!! I was used to ministering to people one on one. Today I was able to get out of my comfort zone and hop on buses and win souls to Christ!! Hallelujah!!!

After returning home to Azle, TX after soul winning at the nursing home yesterday afternoon, I read the gospel soul-winning script to my 79 year old mother and 82 year old father and they both prayed and asked Jesus in their heart! I have been praying for them and claiming them for the Kingdom for 15 years!  Thank you Jesus!!!!  Glory to God!! Hallelujah!!…  God bless you all!!

I was in the train soul winning and I witnessed to a Buddhist, she received salvation, and then I prayed for her ankle which was hurting her and it was healed!

On Tuesday, myself and a group from Word of Life Church went to Fry’s parking lot on 88th and lower Buckeye Rd.  Out of 103 people we talked to, 62 gave their lives to Jesus.  One of them was a lady who for years sold me the liquor that fed my addiction.  She now belongs to God.

I walked over to 3 teens and I started to read the Gospel script and then two of them walked away, and the other one stayed, and I asked him the questions and he answered all the questions and said the prayer.    While I was out, this family was walking out of the movie theater and I went to them and started with the script and led them to the Lord.

I went to the nursing home today for the first time.  I set a soul goal of 5, but I got to pray with 17 people.  One group was a grandma with her daughter and two grandkids.  They all received Jesus.  Then I prayed a scientologist lady.

On Monday, we had 49 souls as a group, so we said, “Hey, let’s get 50.”  So we prayed with this man Auturo who said, “You used to sell me drugs but now I see you and I see God!”

In the nursing home, there was this one woman that could barely hear me so I prayed that she would be able to hear with the hearing aid and after I prayed, she gave her heart to the Lord.  When I was coming back down the hall, she said that she was hearing a lot better.

I’m not one of the people who have been radically transformed and lead 50 people to Christ each week. At first I was embarrassed to write anything because I felt like I can’t say that my life has changed. I had to take a step back to see if there really was a change. After looking at the whole school year, I can say ‘Yes’.

The first thing I noticed is I’m actually going out and winning people to Christ and liking it. I’ve gone out with my former church and on a couple of the GAT’s, but now I’m much more comfortable with soul winning.

I haven’t prayed with large numbers of people since I’m mainly going door to door in the projects. I’ve spoken with a large number of people and prayed with quite a few of them. Many were already saved so that opened the door for praying for needs. Door knocking was very hard for me at first. Now I enjoy it.

I’ve started praying with people for healing and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. I didn’t think I’d ever do that. It’s very cool when you’re praying with a person and he starts speaking in other tongues. I’m not sure who’s more excited; him or me!

I think the biggest thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t take rejection personally any more. I have always been a very timid, self conscious person. If someone would walk away without praying, I’d be devastated. This year I’ve had doors slammed in my face, people turn and walk away, people get angry and make nasty remarks and it’s almost like I didn’t notice it.

For me, this is just the beginning. I expect more boldness each time I go on the streets and I expect God to be there with signs and wonders following as His Word goes forth.

Rodney Howard Browne – Sharon F. Testimony

I started out frustrated because the area my soul winning group went in was not very productive. People wouldn’t come to their doors. Someone had already prayed the prayer with a lot of them. I found out also that many people think they are Christians just because they go to church, or because they are good, and I have learned to keep going with the script on those people. I am bolder in continuing with the script now.

I have noticed that when I read the script, people’s focus gets locked onto the reading of the script. They literally look they could not move their head when I look up at them, like the Holy Spirit is arresting them. I know the gospel works, I have learned no matter how resistant they are to me while speaking from the script, if I continue, most of the time, and they end up repeating the prayer after me.

In my day to day life, I want to get to where I speak to every single person I come in contact with. I want to be able to not worry about time or if I am running late, if a soul is at stake. I want to see more healings and the power of God flowing freely everywhere I go, so the name of Jesus can be glorified and magnified on this earth! I want to get out into my whole neighborhood so they can be saved. I’m hoping I can get my family to start helping me and get them on fire to win souls. I want to be able to walk in stores and get whole groups saved at one time. I want more boldness in restaurants and everywhere I go to carry the fire of the gospel!
